ABOUT THE CONCH FARM: At the Conch Farm, you will see first hand the Queen Conch’s life cycle, which includes egg incubations, larval development, metamorphosis and conchs of all sizes. Watch Us Grow!! The Conch Farm Research and Educational Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit organization open to the public located next to The Conch Republic Seafood Company in Key West, Florida. We are not only a historical museum but also a working laboratory. Our mission is to increase awareness of the endangered Queen Conch and educate the public about mariculture facilities. Our goal is to raise Queen Conchs from eggs, grow them out and restock our local waters to increase population and survival. All efforts of restocking are for education and research only. We are non-profit, so we do not use any Key West Conchs for consumption or sale. Our Conch Farm is modeled after the Conch Farm in the Turks and Caicos Islands. This sixty-acre farm supplies the world with close to 1 ½ million farm raised conch per year. One out of every 500,000 conchs will survive to maturity, because of predation. Conch raised in a farm increase the survival to 250,000 out of every 500,000.
